Born and raised on the East Coast, I headed out to San Francisco ten years ago to find my passion. From the beginning, I was drawn to the vibrant world of food service and have not looked back.
My education was hands on. I have been fortunate to have learned from the most spirited, hardworking, creative people in the industry how to be an employee and a team member, a teacher, a mentor and a friend. In addition, innovative chefs and restauranteurs, passionate farmers and foodies, and the most amazing local produce, meats and artisan foods have been at my fingertips.
Over the years,I have tried to teach myself as much as possible about food and cooking. Good food allows me to be creative, brings me together with friends and family, and fills me up, temporarily, until the next bite.
I'm back on the East Coast now. My years in San Francisco have given me a direction and a passion that I lacked before. I miss SF everyday but I'm optimistic about a future with a bit of a plan. I'm looking forward to applying all I've learned to continued growth and education here in the East.
Why the Starving Sparrow? I'm insatiably hungry for all things food.
